Mechanical sensor for two positions

Vouvry, Switzerland – September 2017 – Microprecision introduces a new product for mechanical position sensing. The new MP600 series mechanical sensors are designed to detect two positions using a single product.
The distance between the two positions can be adjusted to the user’s application between 0.3 mm and 1.5 mm. The fixed NC and NO contacts operate without measurable hysteresis. The repeatability is better than 5 μm and, depending on the cable selection, the operating temperature can range from -40 ° C to 130 ° C. The cable termination can be supplied with an M12 connector.
This unique patented switching mechanism is designed for voltages up to 30 VDC. It is self-contained and easily fits into countless shapes of enclosures. The IP67 sealed standard housings are available in M8 and M12 sizes with pin or ball actuator.
Targeted applications can be found in automation, process control and OEM industries, where two switches are now used for monitoring. The MP600 series eliminates time-consuming adjustments required due to the hysteresis effect caused by the sensors or snap-action switches used. This is typically the case in braking applications with air gap and wear control or as a limit switch in process applications. Due to its compact design and precision, the MP600 can also be used as a precise reference for xyz movements in various applications.
